Hippo Brings Play to Teaching Pools

Hippo Leisure have transformed teaching pools at WolvertonSwimming & Fitness Centre and Cefn Fforest Leisure Centre this summer byinstalling interactive play equipment.

The play equipment at both centres has been installedto allow the teaching pool to be either free of play equipment during swimmingsessions, or to provide the flexibility of teaching sessions to run alongsidethese sessions if desired.

At Wolverton Swimming & Fitness Centre Hippoinstalled two span arms suspended over the pool, each with a number of surpriseand anticipatory based features including shark showers, tipping buckets andwater wheels. A snake squirt and aselection of interactive play panels were also installed to enhance the visualimpact and provide excitement for toddler and mixed ability user groups.

Cefn Fforest also opted for Hippo’s popular play panels,along with 6 floatys and an interactive span pipe along the pool wall, tosquirt water over the poolside.

The aim of these play feature installations are tobring fun to lifeless teaching pools and attract more visitors withoutdisrupting teaching sessions. Theinstallation of new play equipment will enable the pools to become more appealing to community groups, have thefacilities to promote learning through play and remarket themselves.
