Hippo Leisure will attend conference to advise how water play helps to tackle inactivity

Hippo Leisure are excited to be attending for the first time, the Why Sports Inactivity conference 2020, which takes place in London on 30 April.

Public Health England have reported that the number of children meeting the recommended amount of physical activity for healthy development and to maintain a healthy weight, which is 60 minutes a day, drops by 40% as they move through primary school.

Attending the Inactivity conference will enable us to come together with policy makers, governing bodies, local authorities, coaches, volunteers and the private sector to share insights on how to encourage children to remain healthy and active into adulthood.  It will be a great opportunity for us to share how we help to tackle inactivity by working with our customers to innovate and design versatile play equipment for their wet play facilities which supports their swim teaching and water confidence development programmes.

“By incorporating water play features into leisure facilities, we not only help to increase facility footfall and revenue but encourage life-saving water confidence skills and help eliminate fear of water in children and even adults. The long-term results being an increased number of people participating in regular swimming activities which contributes to healthier lifestyles”, explains Andy Taylor, Business Development Manager for Hippo Leisure, who is attending the conference.

Our versatile, play features range from splash toys to water factories and can be installed both indoors and outdoors as well as in a wide range of pool types including toddler, leisure and teaching pools. Many of our products can be suspended above the pool or installed on the poolside. This is useful if you have a teaching pool and need to ensure you have pool space for swimming lessons which do not require the use of play equipment. It also enables water confidence sessions to take place when the pool is not being used for lessons. This encourages a wider range of users and can create additional income.

Our priority is working with all interested parties in the leisure industry including you to ensure water play and swimming sessions are accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

If you are attending the conference it would be great to meet you to discuss how we can work with you. You can book your appointment with Andy direct or give him a call now on 07970 479035. If you can’t attend the conference and would like to speak to Andy, please call him today.
